A check presentation was held today at Servco Subaru Mapunapuna.
The “Share the Love” event donated $250 for every new vehicle sold by Subaru Hawaii dealers from November 1 to December 31, 2012. The public also had an opportunity to vote for their favorite participating non-profit organization on Subaru Hawaii’s Facebook page. At the end of the sales event period on December 31, Oahu SPCA was the winner with 47 percent of all votes and earned an additional $5,000. Last year, Hawaii Wildlife Fund came out on top and received 45 percent of all votes. In total, Subaru Hawaii donated $8,000 to Oahu SPCA.
“We are delighted to give back to the community by supporting our local non-profit partners,” said Glenn Inouye, Senior Vice President, Servco representing the Subaru Hawaii Dealers. “The Facebook contest, in particular, was very well received by the public. It was an exciting race right up to the very end.”
“Oahu SPCA thanks Subaru Hawaii for including us in the Share the Love campaign,” said Abigail Bingham, Oahu SPCA Executive Director. “Generous donors like Subaru Hawaii make it possible for us to continue rescuing stray, abandoned, and abused animals. We look forward to working with Subaru on other campaigns in the future.”
"Big Brothers Big Sisters Hawaii was thrilled to have been selected by Subaru Hawaii to participate in this year's Share the Love campaign,” saidDennis Brown, Big Brothers Big Sisters Hawaii President/CEO. “With the donation, we will match more children facing adversity with mentors in one-to-one relationships, leading to brighter futures and stronger communities."
