Ward Centers Puts the Spotlight on Mom  at Discover Kaka‘ako, May 11

On Saturday, May 11, 2013, Ward Centers’ Discover Kakaʻako event will be blossoming with love and appreciation for the women that mean the most. From 5-9 p.m., kama‘āina and visitors alike can celebrate all mothers, grandmothers, and moms-to-be with fashion, food, entertainment, keiki-friendly activities, and more. Additionally, the first 200 people to show they “like” Ward Centers on Facebook at the Discover Kakaʻako information tent will receive a Ward Centers swag bag filled with goodies from Ward Centers merchants.

Half-y Hour is also back, helping superwomen take the night off to enjoy a fashionable 50 percent off at participating Ward Centers merchants  paired with delicious cocktail samples. Shoppers can stop by the Discover Kakaʻako information tent to pick up a coupon sheet and map, which guides them to all the fashion-infused fun. Shoppers must provide an I.D. and be 21 and over to participate in alcohol sampling.

A new auction boutique called Estate Liquidators Hawaii will open with their first auction on Sunday May 5th, 2013 at 11am.  The new auction boutique will be home to the finest Hawaiiana antiques and collectibles.  Some of the items for auction will be the legendary Don Ho’s headboard, a 1910 Taisho antique piece from Japan stunning at 7’ tall, a Yvonne Chen with Koa frame and much more.  The first auction will have hundreds of never seen before pieces and thousands of dollars of exquisite jewelry and collectibles.  The auction boutique is a vision of island marketing executive Carol Yamada, president of Moore Ideas Inc.

“ My goal is to bring buyers and sellers together in a fun atmosphere educating the consumer on Hawaiiana and the local culture.  The proceeds from select  items at the auction will  benefit a nonprofit . “ Carol Yamada proprietor of Estate Liquidators Hawaii.

HONOLULU (April 1, 2013) – On Saturday, April 13, 2013 from 5-9 p.m., Ward Centers is shaking things up in Kaka‘ako with Discover Kakaʻako – offering families keiki-friendly activities, fashion, food, entertainment, and more. This month, Discover Kakaʻako welcomes local nonprofit, Lemonade Alley, to the neighborhood with sweet, tangy and original lemonade made by local students competing in the nonprofit’s lemonade stand business competition.

Sephora Americas announced this week the launch of Values Inside Out, a visionary partnership program matching Sephora stores across America with non-profit organizations in their own communities. Sephora at Ala Moana Shopping Center has chosen to help HUGS (Help, Understanding & Group Support).

The initiative begins tomorrow (Sat. March 23), with a meet and greet with HUGS staff and volunteers at Sephora at Ala Moana from noon to 5pm. For a minimum $10 donation, people will receive a HUGS t-shirt while supplies last. A drawing will also be held for a free teeth-whitening kit.

HUGS helps Hawaii's seriously ill children and their families preserve their quality of life through programs addressing emotional, social, physical and financial needs. Services are provided free of charge.

Say hello to 2013 with food, fashion and live music in Kaka‘ako starting at 5 p.m.

HONOLULU (Jan. 4, 2013) – This month, Ward Centers is inviting shoppers to leap into the new year with its monthly Discover Kaka‘ako event. On Jan. 12, visitors and kama‘āina can toast to new beginnings as they “Discover Kaka‘ako” at Ward Centers from 5-9 p.m. with live music, fashion, food trucks and more.
