  • Description: The Japanese Cultural Center of Hawai‘i is excited to present a special event featuring Norman H. Osumi’s new book Today’s Thought – Rev. Paul Osumi: the Man and his Message. Osumi will share his thoughts behind writing this book about his late father. He will also be available for a book signing following the event. Today’s Thought – Rev. Paul Osumi: the Man and his Message is based upon the life of the author of the daily inspirational messages, Today’s Thought that appeared in the The Honolulu Advertiser for over 35 years. Norman Osumi captures the life of his father from his immigration from Japan to being arrested and interned in 1941, to his life as a minister in various churches across Hawai‘i till his death in 1996. He tells the story from a son’s perspective and includes selected and edited inspirational messages from his sermons over his lifetime and daily thoughts.
